Kelli is a survivor of familial human trafficking. In this photograph, Kelli adjusts her stack of bracelets: a hospital allergy band, a survivor chain, a medical bracelet, and another that says, “Be strong and courageous.” Kelli is about to be discharged from rehab after relearning to speak and walk after a stroke a month ago. “They call me a badass around here,” she says, recounting her astounding recovery. “I am a survivor and pretty resilient.
